While there are countless excellent alien invasion movies, it’s hard to choose the best of them. Captive State, Signs, The Thing, and E.T. are among the most notable examples. But if you’re looking for something completely different, look no further. We’ve selected some of our favorites based on their quality.
Captive State
The future is bleak for Earth as a powerful alien race intrudes to wreak havoc on our planet. Our governments are eager to acquiesce to the aliens’ demands. The film picks up a decade after the invasion. The action switches between two main characters, Gabriel and William, who join the resistance against the aliens. William is tasked with tracking down dissenters. Everyone is monitored by a government whose citizens are fitted with implants that record every word and movement. In addition, hundreds of drones swarm the air to provide surveillance.
Captive State is not an over-the-top action movie, but it is full of great ideas. The movie is a little underdeveloped, with a weak narrative and weak characterizations, and it strains to achieve cult status.
While a lot of sci-fi movies have a similar plot, they have very different settings. Many of the movies are set in different parts of the world. Some are set on Earth, while others are set in another planet. Aliens invading our planet will disrupt us, and our military will have to adapt to survive.
Another great movie set in the future is “Starship Troopers,” which was released in 1997. The film stars Michael Fassbender as a robot and a pair of astronauts with bucket-shaped helmets. This sci-fi movie has some very realistic settings, and is based on real events that happened in the distant future.
Alien: Covenant has a very different premise than the first two movies. This time, aliens from another planet take over Earth and set up a shadowy authoritarian government. Its prologue is particularly chilling. However, while the plot is engaging, it’s not visually striking.
Another great film is “Area X” from James Cameron. The film is set in a future where a humanoid alien invades Earth. The aliens are a mysterious and highly intelligent species and rewrite the DNA of all living organisms in the area. It’s a sci-fi thriller that features a star-studded cast and a harrowing situation.
Aliens have taken over the Earth and are invading its resources. Human resistance is wiped out. During this forced rule, the aliens have achieved a lot. They have even caused crime to drop and the economy to boom.
The Thing
John Carpenter’s “The Thing” is one of the best alien invasion movies of all time. It’s a chilling tale of an alien invasion and a case study in paranoia. The movie’s premise is that a team of scientists has been quarantined at Outpost 31, a remote icy research station. As the film progresses, tension builds.
While the story is predictable, the film’s underlying theme is a timely reminder of our times. We’re living in a time of growing and shrinking planetary boundaries and expanding human civilization, so we need to make sure that we’re prepared. If we don’t, we’ll end up with a world full of dead bodies, and no one to protect us.
If you’re not a huge horror movie fan, you’re probably looking for a fun sci-fi flick. The Thing is a good example of this genre, with a mix of social commentary and humor. While the premise of the film isn’t the most original, it does have some great moments.
“The Thing” stars J. K. Simmons and Chris Pratt in an action-packed sci-fi thriller set in the near future. It follows a group of soldiers and regular people who battle aliens. Meanwhile, an engineer has nightmares about an alien invasion and meets another patient with a similar problem.
Alien invasion movies can come in many forms. In one of the most terrifying examples, an alien invasion is brought about by a mysterious alien. It can be human, insect-like, or even a combination of both. Whatever form the aliens take, the threat is real.
There are many movies that deal with alien invasions, but The Thing is perhaps the best. It deals with an alien species that has the capability to travel interstellar distances and has to be transported from planet to planet. The aliens eventually discover that there is a symbiotic toxic liquid on the planet where the native life is.
Another great example of an alien invasion movie is “A Quiet Place”. This sci-fi thriller centers on the struggle of humans to communicate with aliens. It stars John Krasinski and Emily Blunt and uses brilliant sound design for its scares. This film is a high-art masterpiece and a must-see for science-fiction fans.
E.T.
When it comes to sci-fi movies about aliens, Arrival is one of the best. Though not as action-packed as other alien invasion films, Arrival is incredibly engaging. It is based on a short story by Ted Chiang and is one of the more unique depictions of alien life. Starring Jeremy Renner and Amy Adams, Arrival is directed by Denis Villeneuve.
In this science fiction movie, the world is threatened by an alien invasion. A mysterious spacecraft begins to interfere with multiple satellite stations. While scientists and military experts believe this is caused by meteors, it is actually a massive alien spacecraft orbiting the Moon. It has a plan to invade Earth, and positions itself over major cities. Meanwhile, world governments continue to misalign on the alien threat, and the alien spacecraft begins a brutal assault-based invasion on Earth on July 4th.
“Nope” and “Signs” have a lot in common. They both feature aliens, and both feature forward-thinking CGI. It’s also a great sci-fi film that gives the audience a feel-good experience.
While World’s End isn’t the best of Wright’s trilogy, it is the most compelling movie in the series. However, the sequel to this film, Hot Fuzz, is the superior film. The sequel is much more ambitious, starring Eddie Marsan, Rosamund Pike, and Simon Pegg.
